Maria Rohm: Naked for Franco but Fun for the Whole Family

As one of sleaze-auteur Jess Franco's regular girls, Austrian born Maria Rohm a.k.a. Maria Kohn was required to be naked onscreen quite often and that's something that makes me happy because, you know, I like boobies.  She also did some family films like Black Beauty, Call of the Wild with Charlton Heston and Treasure Island with Orson Welles, which is kind of weird.  Not that working with Orson Welles is weird - it's weird that she would start out in soft-core exploitation films and then move on to big budget Hollywood.  One year she's topless and getting whipped in some sleazy exploitation flick and the next she's starring in a wholesome adventure film with some of the biggest names in Hollywood.  It seems like it's usually the other way around.  Actresses start out in Hollywood and then when their careers start to fail they turn to low budget skin-flicks to pay the bills.

Also, if Jess Franco had directed a film called Black Beauty I think it would have been awesome.  The scary part is, it might still have included horses.  Sleazy horses.

If you're wondering what these sleazy Franco exploitation movies are that the lovely Maria starred in, they have names like The Blood of Fu Manchu (1968), 99 Women (1968), Euginie: The Story of her Journey into Perversion (1969), Marquis de Sade's Justine (1969), Venus in Furs (1969), and The Bloody Judge (1969).
