Virgins and Vampires: The Films of Jean Rollin

The films of Jean Rollin are a feast of perverse and exotic imagery shot in the soft-focus style of a David Hamilton photo essay and paced as languidly as a Terence Malick film…but with sudden eruptions of grand quignol gore worthy of Herschell Gordon Lewis and lots of beautiful and bloody nude bodies.  via
Sure.  That's one way of putting it.  I always thought Jean Rollin films were just low-budget ways to showcase a lot of blood and fine European boobies, but poetic language makes them sound all classy and shit.

Here's a documentary from British television (Eurotika on Channel 4, I believe) about the many booby-filled films of the great French horror and exploitation director Jean Rollin.

I can't believe how much nudity they show on British TV.

The poms (brits) don't really mind nudity on the TV just as long as it's only shown at night.

Then I should think about relocating to UK I think. That picture looks like a poem.

Geez Banacek, your eloquence mirrors mine when it comes to high-fallutin' language.

Sometimes just comin' out and sayin' it is best, y'knowwhatImean? And that IS some rawkin' bewbage and blood goin' on.

Sometimes you just shouldn't mess with what works.

I personally love vimeo, it's my computer that has some issue. It only sounds right if the video isn't in sight. And it sounds like an echo if I can actually see it. Peachy.

Who is the woman in the top picture?

@Phil - It's Françoise Pascal in "The Iron Rose".
