FDR Rides Wheelchair of Death

I have mixed feelings about this new wave of hokey, grindhouse-style films that feature historical figures battling monsters.  It seems like something I should like, but I'm not sure.  I think the concepts for the films are great but perhaps they're best suited to 2 minute trailers, because I have doubts whether they can hold up for an entire 98 minute movie.  Only time will tell.

Like the vampire hunting Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano "The New Dealer" Roosevelt takes on a pack of polio-carrying, Nazi werewolves in FDR: American Badass!.  Does his cock still work?  I guess we'll have to wait until the film is released to find out, but no date has been set.

Here's the trailer.  Enjoy.

I understand what your saying, this sounds like it wouldn't make a 98minute movie! I wish people didn't always feel compelled to make movies that long! If the ideas good for a 40minute movie, make a 40minute movie!

I like the idea though and I'll defenitely try and check this one out!

Meh. Very meh.

I dunno, CERTAIN historical figures could easily go the way of El Santo, y'know? The Silver Saint, that mexican luchadore who fought every single monster in the world bare-handed...I'm fairly certain he took on Loch Ness at one point in time as well.

Still had time to wrestle, as well!

I mean, I could EASILY see Teddy Theodore Roosevelt whuppin' ass on everyone from Blackula to Herman freakin' Munster. Seriously. Ted Theodore Roosevelt could take on an alien invasion single-handedly with one hand tied behind his back and blindfolded.

But FDR?

I dunno, I mean...black JFK and Elvis took on a mummy in a movie once. I reckon anything can be done if it can be imagined...but SHOULD it be done is the question.

@Bonjour Tristesse I love Bubba Ho-tep. Bruce Campbell is quite possibly the greatest living actor.

Hmmm....the trailer was pretty funny, but it might get old quick. Plus, as great an idea as I thought "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" was, I remembered I don't really care for Jane Austen (I know, gasp, what girl that reads doesn't like her? Answer, ME!) and I got bored and put it down. The only thing in that book worth anything was the illustrations. Maybe...one day...when I'm bored...

I think this genre has a lot of potential to become instant cult classics.

I agree with earlier posters about Bubba Ho-Tep being a fun movie.
